As the author of the best-selling mystery romance, Surviving Goodbye, Morgan Parker has written several novels under this pen name. In 2012 and 2013, when he self-published Textual Encounters and Textual Encounters: 2, respectively, he was absolutely floored that anyone would want to read his stories. So he wrote non friction, an unconventional love story. That love story earned Mr. Parker a tremendous amount of attention and at the insistence of his readers, he followed it with Hope (a novella) and Sick Day. All three of those stories have spent time on Amazon best-seller lists. Currently, he is preparing Violets & Violence for publication in late-2014. When not writing, Morgan likes to spend time gathering writing material from his two young children, reading and napping where he discovered the Type II Sleep State, which is the topic for his 2015 release, Anna Graham. Morgan interacts regularly with his readers and friends on Facebook and Twitter. Social Links

Love in Spanish by Karina Halle

Successful, wealthy and absurdly handsome – Spanish ex-football player Mateo Casalles seemed like he had it all. A high-society wife, an adorable little girl, and flashy apartments in Madrid and Barcelona only sweetened the deal. But there was more to Mateo than met the eye – a life of uncertainty and regret that colored his black and white world.

That was until Vera Miles came into his life like a shooting star. Tattooed, wild and young, Vera seemed like Mateo’s polar opposite at first. But you can’t choose who you fall in love with and the two lost souls did everything they could to be together, all while suffering the grave consequences.

Now with Mateo divorced and living in Madrid with Vera, there is a whole new set of challenges and setbacks facing the couple and rocking the foundation of their star-crossed relationship.

Unfortunately for them, the brighter the star, the faster they burn.

Wow. I can’t get enough of Mateo and Vera! Sadly though, their story, for us has come to an end.

Another heart clenching, gut wrenching story from Halle. This will carry you in it’s whirlwind right to the very end.

Mateo and Vera’s love story, whilst a beautiful one, has never been an easy one and in this second instalment, written from Mateo’s POV, it’s not about to get any easier.

This is a twister of emotion, from love that sends you to the highest cloud to agonizing heart-break. Packed with drama (in the most adult of manners), passion and raw unadulterated, boundless, beautiful love. I felt every emotion as if I was in Mateo’s head the whole ride. Down to the sound of his sensuously gruff and charming Spanish accent.

Halle is a true genius. I never tire of her story telling which sucks me into its vacuum and spits me out wanting more, at the end. There is a true beauty to her writing when it comes to Mateo and Vera. The way she writes about the stars in the universe and the infinite ways that love glides through its atmosphere. All of this rooted in our main characters. Love isn’t always plain sailing and I adore the way that Karina has dealt with issues in this book that really put pressure on the relationship and whether it can sustain the damages. It gives it a gritty, real feel.

You truly come away from this book believing that, no matter how many lemons life throws at you, when you find someone that you can feel in your gut and deep in your soul, that this is the person for you. Then love can overcome anything (Cheese).

If you loved Love, in English s much as I did then you will LOVE this. A great conclusion to an epic romance with bite

Then to top it off, we get a sneak peek into Josh’ world with Where Sea Meets Sky and OhMyGosh . . .  I can’t wait to read on with Josh and Gemma’s story. She certainly knows how to leave you hanging.

Review ~ Surviving Goodbye by Morgan Parker

Another wonderful story by Morgan Parker. Surviving Goodbye is a cleverly written story about Elliott Fitch and his struggle to let go of his recently deceased wife.

Surviving Goodbye is a mystery that keeps you guessing all the way through. My own guess was way of the mark (You will know what I mean when you check it out for yourself). The book itself is quite a pleasant surprise. Morgan Parker has a special way with words. Like all his books, this is about the journey in finding live – in fact it’s more about stumbling upon love. There is almost a darkness and sombreness to his writing with just a small amount of light to see you through to a happy ending.

At the same time, there is a light-heartedness to it and it will make you laugh and smile in places. I did however question at one point find myself questioning points of the story but it all makes sense in the end. It’s about the power that love holds over a person and the crazy things it can make a person do.

I think my favourite thing about this book is the relationship between Elliott and his daughter, Lena; a stroppy teen that has survived a lot in her sweet sixteen years. The relationship they share is somewhat strained but beautiful all at once. There a few special moments that had the corners of my mouth turning up.

Part of me would like to go back in time and learn more about Elliott and Karen because the few slivers of history between them are very enticing to the romantic streak in me.

A nice easy read that will, at the same time, keep you guessing all the way through whilst warming the cockles of your heart.

Author bio: As a shy and introverted male author, Morgan Parker seeks refuge in sleep. Where all of his friends live in his dreams and nightmares, and where he never has to pay for his non-fat cappuccinos. He has written the Textual Encounters Series, Non Friction, Sick Day and, most recently, Surviving Goodbye. He is currently at work on his next novel, Violets and Violence… yes, in his dreams.

Excerpt:

By the time you read this, I’ll be dead. I hope I had the chance to tell you this myself,

but in the event that I couldn’t, I want you to know that from the moment we met, I

loved you. So, so, so much. And these past few months dealing with the reality of my

mortality have allowed me to reach into the depths of that love and see that what is

sweet on one hand, is devastatingly sad on the other: You loved me with the depth

and truth that most people never know. And because of that (here’s the devastating

part), I know you won’t let go, even once I’m gone. It’s sweet to know that I owned

your heart, body and soul for all of these years, but it crushes me that you will bury

these things with my body and not only deprive yourself of life, of enjoying and

sharing it with someone else but from love altogether... and that is the tragedy here.

You deserve to live, breathe, taste, and love again. Elliot, that is what Love is, and

that is what I want for you once I'm gone.

Blog Tour ~ Falling Sky by Lisa Swallow

Falling Sky (Blue Phoenix, #2)

Author: Lisa Swallow

Release date: 10th June 2014

This book is the second in the Blue Phoenix series, and is the

continuation of the story told in Summer Sky.

SYNOPSIS

Sky’s world turned upside down when she met rock star Dylan

Morgan, and exploded when she discovered his hidden past.

Four months after Sky learns Dylan’s devastating secret, she’s

trying to piece her life back together. Without an explanation from

Dylan, Sky has no choice but to try and forget him.

Dragged back into the life he ran from, Dylan continues to spiral

downwards as he copes with his fame the only way he knows how.

Shattered by the revelation Sky knows his darker past, he forces

himself to return to England and explain.

Sky and Dylan reconnect, attempting to build on the shaky

foundations of their summer. But the outside world continues to

conspire against them.

Taking place in the epicentre of the Blue Phoenix world, Sky and

Dylan’s story continues amongst the chaos surrounding the band

and its members.

FALLING SKY EXTRACT

The snow drifts down heavier than recently and by the time

we get to my place, the dark clouds bring the winter’s night on

early. Dylan parks behind my snow-covered car.

“If we’re going back to the start, I should really rear-end

that car?” He looks at me sideways with a grin.

I’m busy calculating my next move and trying to anticipate

his because he’s turned the engine off. The snow settles on the

windscreen.

“White Christmas, do you think?” I ask.

“A few days to go yet but maybe.”

“I’d better get inside before...”

“Before what?” He turns in the seat and I stiffen. If I kiss

Dylan, that’s it. Over. I’m lost again.

“Before the roads get bad for you,” I say the words but I’m

unaware of anything but Dylan, the leather scent of his jacket is

different to the summer Dylan, a new flavour mingling with the

“I’ll be okay,” he says, his gaze on my mouth.

I lick my dry lips and his pupils dilate, even without his

hands on me, Dylan’s stirring arousal. He reaches out a hand,

pushing a strand of hair behind my ear the way he always used to,

his fingertips grazing my cheek with heat. Hesitantly, he moves his

face closer, reminding me of the first time he kissed me. I tense as

his warm breath strokes my face, dragged into the charged moment

before his lips touch mine.

Dylan softly presses his mouth to mine. Then waits. I push

my lips to his and our mouths move together, the hesitant kiss of

those just met, not of reuniting lovers. I fall into space, past the

stars into his universe, pulled to the man who has never let me go.

The world outside of the heating space of the car doesn't exist, our

bubble transplanted to here and now. I grip the growing curls of

his hair and hold his neck and he leans across the middle of the car,

pulls me close and lets go of his gentleness. Dylan holds both of

my cheeks, the way he did on the beach in the rain, and kisses me

like a drowning man desperate for air only I can give him.

My winter coat and his jacket prevent complete closeness

and I fight the urge to slip my hands inside his jacket and feel his

warmth and strength. If I do that, I know he’ll reciprocate and in a

car, in the street, isn’t the right place to start.

reunite that we both have. But not now, not yet.

Slowly, Dylan unwinds my fingers from his neck and shifts

“I’ve missed you, Sky,” he whispers, cupping my cheek.

“Life lost a lot of colour without you,” I say. “And not just

“Will you see me again?”

“Yes.” I softly brush his lips and draw away. Dylan’s

lips part and I place a finger on them. “But I’m not ready for the

intensity again this soon.”

“I get that.”

“Which is why I’m going inside alone.”

“Unfortunately, I thought you’d say that.” He kisses my

“Tomorrow?”

There’s a hint of the old Dylan, reaching out to the old Sky he’s

just resurrected. “It’s always tomorrow with you, isn’t it?” I ask,

echoing the words from the summer.

Summer Sky (Blue Phoenix #1)

Title: Summer Sky (Blue Phoenix, #1)

SYNOPSIS

Sky changed her life for a man once, and she has no intention

of doing it again - even if he is a six-foot, tattooed rock god who

makes a mean bacon sandwich.

Sky Davis is fed up with boyfriend Grant taking her for granted,

and when she comes home to find him wearing a girl, Sky

suspects the relationship is over. She takes an unscheduled

holiday and leaves the life (and guy) she hates behind.

Rock star Dylan Morgan is struggling with fame and infamy, sick

of his life being controlled by other people. Dylan cuts his hair

and walks away from his role as lead singer of Blue Phoenix,

leaving behind chaos and speculation.

Outside the English seaside town of Broadbeach, their cars and

worlds collide.

Sky decides Dylan is an arrogant guy with too many tattoos, and

Dylan is amused by the smart-mouthed girl with no idea who he

is. Dylan and Sky soon discover they’ve travelled to Broadbeach

for the same reason - to escape from reality and head back to a

place with happy childhood memories. Losing themselves in a

world where they know nothing about each other, Sky and Dylan

begin a summer romance that soon heats up their rainy English

summer.

Fantasies can’t last forever, and when reality crashes the party,

Sky isn’t sure she wants to be more than his ‘summer Sky’ but

Dylan doesn’t want to let her go.

Returning to the real world, public scrutiny isn’t their only

problem. Blue Phoenix lead guitar player, Jem Jones, has a

reason for wanting Sky out of Dylan’s life, and is determined to

come between them. Some things won’t stay hidden, even when

they’re paid to ‘go away’.

Summer Sky is a contemporary romance where occasionally

more than the bacon sizzles. It is the first in the Blue Phoenix

series.

The Blue Phoenix books are a series of contemporary romance

novels and novellas centred on the fictional rock band Blue

Phoenix.

Ramblings...

S.J has did it once again! Not a moment disappointed, yet another amazing book beautifully written, following on from Lussuria the first instalment. I loved this book from head to toe, just like the title L'amore.

L'amore is full of intriguing, edge gripping moments have you gasping for air and stomach turning points, but don't worry at every turn Lucca, the knight in shining armour, running through to dark standing by his queen to protect and love her in every way he can.

The love between Lucca and Lexi, grows even more strong with every challenge they face. They understand each other, like perfect, two people that are made for each other. The author have done a awesome job, in building up both characters, showing us there affection of love and need in each other. Within the story, the author also capture us the importance of friends and families support for any situations. Loving support help shine another ray of light from the darkness, which show how the future could be in the light, we shouldn't be scared and let the dark consume us.

Both Lucca and Lexi's past come back to haunt them. Making it mentally and psychically challenging for them both, points of reading it made my stomach all tighten up for them, knowing how bad and hard they united, i was like please work it out. Lucca's love for Lexi, is crazy. You can really sense, the love he has for her, without any hesitation or doubts evening know how trouble she is, he loves her whole heartedly and wants to give her the world. He really is the sweeties, charming and hot boyfriend, that we all wish for and even better he can cook amazing food, what more can you ask for! perfecto!! The both just as cute as each other, there love is what they need and the most important to them.

I also love the author have introduce different characters in the story, giving us another diversion and light of the characters. Making the story even more curious and loving to read. I would love to read other story about the other character too because they all amazing personality that have they own hidden story behind them.

As a child, SJ loved to write in journals and make up short stories and has a flare for all things creative. With an overactive imagination at times, SJ adores to make notes, visualise scenes and settings to create characterisations. While on holiday with her family one summer reading book after book, she had a flash of inspiration and has had various ideas whirling around in her mind ever since. It was not until she pulled back on teaching classes that she found the courage, time and insight into actually bringing these ideas to life. In February 2013 she decided to bring that imagination to light by beginning her writing journey with ‘Lussuria’ the first instalment in ‘The Luminara Series’ available from late October 2013. Being a self-confessed book junkie, she loves nothing better than to get lost in an emotional and moving book. A true romantic at heart, her guilty pleasure is reading heart-warming, passionate stories and falling in love with her favourite fictional characters. With seven books already mapped out in ‘The Luminara Series’, SJ’s busy creative mind has already planned two more fictitious novels, both stand-alone romance books and very different in their own right. When she is not writing or reading, spending time with family and friends or exercising and walking her dog, SJ loves all things practical and creative. Dancing, music, cooking, travelling, good food and wine and painting are her favourite past times along with laughter, lots and lots of laughter.
