Warning! This is not your everyday fall in love romance. This book contains disturbing situations, strong language, graphic, sexual content, some forced, some not. If it's your happily ever after love story that you are looking for, you should probably move on. If you are up for the ride, stick around and it may just turn into a love story after all.
Morgan starts her life in a bad situation, she doesn't really know what she wants out of life. She's never had anyone to look up to, or help guide her in the right direction. She had it rough, and never dreamed that it could get worse, however she finds that it can, and does.
She learns what real hell is when she meets the husband that she doesn't want to marry, but isn't given a choice. Can she escape? She can, and does only to wake up and find herself right back at square one
Ramblings . . .
Where do I
even begin? This story actually left me rendered speechless. Writing a review
for me is usually like word vomit once I have finished reading a book. This
however, I have had to let set in all day and I still have no clue where to
begin.
I will
start by saying that if it’s a heart and flowers romance that you want then
this is NOT the book for you. It does come with warning. This is a dark, gritty
and intense.
Underestimated
is pretty much that. An intense, chaotic whirlwind of events that drag you
through by the scruff of your neck and spit you out at the end. I was all shook
up. The term “rollercoaster ride” is literally over used but my gosh! It was
made for this book. I will tread carefully so not to give too much away because
it’s so full of surprises.
Morgan
Kelley AKA Riley was born into a shitty life. Unfortunately the world just
spins that way for some people and they have no control. Broken and crushed all
the way through her life until she finally fights for her own control. An
emotional tale that really thumps you in the gut.
On the run
and desperate to escape the life she is forced into, she finds a safe haven in
a small town where she is offered the chance to learn the true meaning of love.
I mean literally, this girl has crawled through her life thus far unloved and in
some ways hated for no fault of her own. Suffering mental, emotional and
physical abuse. Can someone that’s been through so much learn how to love and
be loved?
Perhaps it’s
not possible for Morgan but for Riley there is hope. A clean slate. New name.
New town. New identity. A second chance at life. But for how long can you run? The
past always has a way of catching up to you. So as the crashing waves begin to
settle and a slither of hope shines through the end of the tunnel for Riley, we
are capsized and Jettie completely turns the story around. Don’t think for one
second you can settle because there is always a twist around the corner. At
least, that’s how I felt reading this. Whiplash!
There are
some really dark scenes that will have you biting your knuckles. It kinda
messes with your head. I even at times went between loving and hating Riley.
She truly is a messed up character but really if you had been through what she
had then wouldn’t you be too? It certainly had me questioning a lot of things.
I don’t
even know what to say about Drew. I hate him. I don’t hate him. Should I hate
him? Is Riley crazy? Is Drew for real? Gahh. You will see what I mean! I did however,
love Lauren. The self- titled best friend. I would actually love to read her
story.
Underestimated totally
unexpected so I will not say much more but great story telling from Jettie
Woodruff. She kept me on the edge of my seat. Just when you think it can’t get
crazier, it proves you wrong. I like sleep, I’m sorry to say I am not one of
those that stays up through the night reading BUT Underestimated kept me up and
I finished this within one night. I would recommend taking a breather because
it puts you through the mills.
Crazy,
dark, gritty, intense. It’s like sticking every emotion inside a little bottle
and drinking it in one. If it’s substance you want then pick this up and hang
in there.
I guess
what we have deciphered from that is that I kinda loved it. It will test your limits but give it a go.

Writing is more than a passion for me. I write adult books, romance and erotica. I did recently try my hand at a young adult romance, but because of the gutter that my mind seems to fall into. It quickly went into rated R mode. I reside in Ohio. I love living in Ohio, except maybe the cold winters, and the snow, well maybe the hot summers too. Ah hell, I hate Ohio.
I love to push my limits in writing, fuel the senses and emotions of my readers. I have some great supporters and love them all dearly.
