The woman who stole my life by Marian Keyes

International bestselling author Marian Keyes is back with another masterfully told story full of wit and charm.
'Name: Stella Sweeney.
Height: average.
Recent life events: dramatic.'
One day, sitting in traffic, married Dublin mum Stella Sweeney attempts a good deed. The resulting car crash changes her life.
For she meets a man who wants her telephone number (for the insurance, it turns out). That's okay. She doesn't really like him much anyway (his Range Rover totally banjaxed her car).
But in this meeting is born the seed of something which will take Stella thousands of miles from her old life, turning an ordinary woman into a superstar, and, along the way, wrenching her whole family apart.
Is this all because of one ill-advised act of goodwill? Was meeting Mr Range Rover destiny or karma? Should she be grateful or hopping mad?
For the first time real, honest-to-goodness happiness is just within her reach. But is Stella Sweeney, Dublin housewife, ready to grasp it?
Marian's stunning new novel The Woman Who Stole My Life is about losing the life you had and finding a better one.

Sum it up

This book comes with feelings.

I felt connected to the characters. So many great and wonderful characters in this book! (Some are quite painful sometimes).

Story had strength. I loved the set-up – back and forth between past and present – this connected the story together magically. Marians humour never fails to have me laughing out loud even amongst times that make you blub up.

A story of change, for better and worse. Highs and lows of life and how they can change your perspective on love, trust, family life and your career/work-life. The damage caused, the love shared, the pain felt, relationships created and a touch of fate.

This is quite different to her other work but it feels fresh and it revived my love for books after having a loooong dry spell. Where Marian usually sticks quite true to reality, this book is a blend of reality in all it's gritty form and the dream life that we all find ourselves drifting off to within our minds now and again. This book gives you the best AND worst of both worlds and all the chaos that both realities bring with it, along the journey that takes you there.

You can always expect to have fun with Marian Keyes books and I cannot wait to see what Keyes has for us next.
