Annabelle Spencer’s life is every girl’s dream. She has wonderful parents, great friends, and of course the perfect boyfriend, Jack Roberts. That all changes on her sixteenth birthday when her life comes crashing down around her. Her dream night turns into a nightmare when Jack is murdered right in front of her, and she’s kidnapped by his murderer, Carter Thomas, a big time drug and arms dealer.
After ten months of being with Carter, she’s found, but the experience has totally changed her. She’s no longer the happy-go-lucky girl that everyone used to know and love; she’s now cold, hard and suffers from night terrors. It appears that Carter broke not only her body, but her spirit too. A shadow of her former self, her slogan for life is now: ‘If you don’t care about anything, then you have nothing to lose’.
Carter is currently serving time for the murder of Jack, a conviction that Anna helped secure. But his retrial is coming up because some key evidence appears to have been tampered with. Unbeknown to Anna, death threats are being received by her father, the Senator. It appears that Carter is still interested in Anna and will stop at nothing to get her back.
Ashton Taylor is brought in to protect her. He’s a newly qualified SWAT agent, a bright spark, the agency’s new golden boy. He is assigned undercover, posing as her boyfriend. His job is to help her through college and keep her safe until the end of the trial in eight months’ time.
For three years she has been the broken, damaged girl, refusing to feel emotion or pain, but can Ashton help her rebuild her life and finally deal with the grief of losing her childhood sweetheart? Will he be the one to make her see that life is, in fact, worth living and that not all men will hurt her?
All the while, the shadow of the trial looms over the both of them, taunting them, reminding them that it isn’t over yet. After all, Carter Thomas will stop at nothing to be reunited with his ‘Princess’.

Excerpt
I sighed and ignored him, rowing harder until we reached the floating dock that was almost in the middle of the lake. When the boat bumped against the edge of the dock, he jumped out, tying it securely before holding his hand down to help me up.
“I don’t need your help,” I protested, annoyed again.
He sighed deeply. “Listen, Anna, this is what guys do for their girls. We need to start acting like a couple now so that it’ll be easier next week. It’s not a big deal; I just want to help you out of the boat. Please stop being difficult,” he countered, grabbing my hand and helping me onto the deck. “Jeez, you’re stubborn.” He shook his head, laughing. “Most girls would’ve fallen for my charm by now,” he boasted, smiling at me. I snorted at his cocky attitude. “If you’re expecting me to fall for you, then you’re going to be very disappointed,” I said seriously.
He chuckled. “I know, I can tell,” he answered, grinning. I rolled my eyes at him and took my jeans off, plopping down on the dock in just my long, baggy T-shirt. I grabbed an apple out of the bag, nibbling on it absentmindedly. When he stripped down to his shorts, exposing that incredible toned and tanned body that looked like something out of a celebrity magazine, I slipped oWebsiten my shades so that he wouldn’t see my eyes wander in his direction. I forced my gaze away from him and focussed on my apple. I actually felt immensely guilty for looking at him in that way. I had never looked at a man the way I kept looking at Ashton, not since Jack. No one ever caught my interest, and I felt like I was being unfaithful to Jack’s memory by looking at my new guard.
Ramblings..
Loved this author since I read 'The Boy Who Sneaks in My Bedroom Window', Love the way she writes, all her characters are just loveable and you fall for them all... hopeless romantic!
Once again, this book is full of drama, character, love, family and friendship. The story just kick butt from begin to the end, it just gets more intriguing and intense as you read on. The author paints a pretty good over but brief picture at the start but just keeps building up the picture and you see what Anne really went through and it just give you goosebumps.
Anne, a strong women from the outside but scared and fragile in the inside has been in hell and back when she was 16. Now changed and older, she's trying her hardest to protect herself from everything that could remember her of the bed times. Sending alway everyone that come to protect her and turning into this cold, dull person to everyone including her family. But one look at agent Ashton Taylor everything changed, her new bodyguard/pretend boyfriend, her defence system starting to have a crack.
Omg...I love Aston!! he is one sweet hot man! OH...DAMN I..cant say much without give the story away...lets just say his loving his new assignment!! I wish I had a boyfriend like him!! You guys will just have to read how awesome he is...funny, sexy, flirty, protective, caring and a SWAT...the list can go on...
The only little down side I would make is...feel the book is a little to long, She paints a good picture but some places seems dragged. When times i think...oh his coming after her or something is about to happen, it doesn't. Some parts could be left, as I feel there was already enough character building and you can already feel the chemistry they have together and the behaviour change with everyone.
Nothing left to lose but you don't release there is always something to lose, sometimes its not obvious until its gone. Once you reading...you feel how, unexpected things will change you without a reason or realization to it. Its definitely a enjoyable read, especially Aston and Anne banter time, even Ashton's best Nate add extra humor to the story.

A bit about the Author: Kirsty Moseley
Kirsty Moseley has always been a passionate reader since she was a little girl, devouring books overnight, barely sleeping and paying for it at school the next day. Writing has come similarly to her and once she discovered Wattpad, she finally plucked up the courage to post one of her stories. Seven million reads later, she self-published her debut novel THE BOY WHO SNEAKS IN MY BEDROOM WINDOW, which later became one of 10 Finalists for the 2012 Goodreads' Choice Awards, Best YA Fiction. Shocked and overwhelmed by the response, she later published her second and third novels, Always You and Free Falling.
If she had to sum herself up in one word, it would probably be 'daydreamer' - but unlike most of her school teachers, she doesn't necessarily view that as a bad thing. After all, she read somewhere once that books are like waking dreams....
She lives in Norfolk, England with her husband and son.
