Author Spotlight of the week: Stephanie Witter

Stephanie WitterTen Things About Stephanie Witter:

1) I read my Harry Potter's books so many times that it ruined them. I had to duct tape them but the pages are not well put together anymore. One day I should buy new copies.

2) Until I was fourteen, I wanted to be a paleontologist. It might be because I saw Jurassic Park when I was a kid. I was able to tell you which dinosaurs were living at which era. It was quite freaky, really.

3) I write Romance novels but I'm not the romantic kind of girl in real life. Not at all. There might be something to dig there in my weird brain.

4) I have a black humor I unleash only when I'm with people I'm close, otherwise I may be seen as a heartless girl. Or just plain crazy. But I'm telling you right away, I have a heart and it's beating just fine.

5) When I was a little kid - way too young to watch it - I had a child crush on Noah Wyle playing Dr. Carter in the TV show ER. And when I say that I was too young... I'm born in 1989! I'm lucky that my mother explained to me the difference between fiction and reality and let me watch almost everything. And guess what I'm watching these days then? Falling Skies because he is in this show too. Yes, I am hopeless.

6) In the same idea, I had an obsession. For some years during my teenage days, I watched horror movies. When I watched The Exorcist for the first time - the old version - I laughed my ass off while my friends were freaking out. Never watch a horror movie with me or you will have a laughing idiot next to you during the whole thing.

7) I am afraid of planes. I don't trust at all these flying machines. We don't have wings so we should stick to the ground and rock it. Last time I took a plane - a three hour flight - I had my fingers digging in the seat in front of me. My body ached for days afterward, just because I was expecting the plane to crash. Like me hugging the seat in front of me would have saved me.

8) I'm a dog person. Cuddling with a dog is just so sweet when you're not feeling good.

9) I'm an only child. I'm not sure, but I think it's one of the reasons why I'm always in my bubble, making up stories in my head. I can't tell you how many times I hit my head in stuffs, which may explain why I have so many quirks. Kidding. Sort of.

10) My very first and most important passion is writing. You would never believe how many stories are in my head, waiting to be written. It's almost scary the mess in there. There will be some passionate love, some sweet love, some destructive love, forbidden love, impossible love, funny love, etc. If you are still here to read them, I'll be busy for a while!

Patch Up

Blurb:
Skye followed her long time boyfriend to Seattle for their first year of college, but he dumped her after only a week. The relationship brought only pain and destruction in Skye's life, and yet, she can't bring herself to open up and live her life.

"What if I am already broken into pieces?"

She hates to be touched, hiding under her oversized shirts and behind her wild frizzy hair. Even her bubbly roommate can't reach her. And yet ...

"I'm the guy who knows how you can hurt so much that your insides feel like they're cut and bleeding."

The tall, handsome, and tattooed TA in her psychology class changes everything when he literally collides with her and confronts her. For the first time in a long time, she wants to try and open up to this guy whose dark, intense eyes can't hide his own pain despite his dazzling smile getting to her.

However, just when she's starting to live again, her ex-boyfriend comes back, breaking her time and time again, making it all the more complicated.

She wants to fight for herself and for this building thing with the TA, even when he pushes her away, but can two broken people patch each other up?

"I never thought colliding with someone could change lives, but it is possible."

Five fun facts about Stephanie Witter

1) My favourite movie when I was a kid was Edward Scissorhands. I guess I always had some kind of crush on Johnny Depp :)

2) I write romance novels and yet I'm not at all a romantic women. Is It because I'm single? Mystery! Lets talk about this again in a few years.

3) I love hockey. My dream would be to go to  a NHL game one day. I live in a city in France where hockey is quite the thing. Fortunately I can have mine fix.

4) I am embarrassingly shy. Really. When I met new people I tend to be tongue-tied. That's quite weird once you know me, I'm everything but shy.

5) I can't get rid of my French accent. Don't ever ask me to do a vlog or something like that. Nope. Never.

Blog Tour ~ Into The Deep by Samantha Young Review and giveaway

They say that your first love stays with you forever. But what if your first love was the one? When is it too late for second chances?

This book wrapped its pages snugly around my heart and didn’t let go until the end. I was left gasping for air.

"You're it for me. They write books about what we have"

Charley and Jakes story is one of love, pure and instant, raw and deep, found and lost. We follow their journey through time, present and past. Samantha Young achieves this flawlessly. Into The Deep played like a movie in my mind. Her story-telling is so vivid and beautiful. Her words sink in with colours and sound.

I have read previous books by Samantha so I knew I would like this one. Like is a HUGE understatement. My kindle having been glued to my hands for the past 42 hours. When you pick this up, you will not settle until you have finished. A perfect, mind-blowing, captivating, addictive and emotional love story.

"Fuck. I really want to kiss you right now"
"I've been in love with since our first date, and every day since I've fallen deeper and deeper for you"

The characters are just perfect, to the point that I want a Charley in my life. The girl is amazing. I looked at her as a hero. If women are to be perceived in any such light, this is how I would happily be represented. Our main girl is caring, intelligent, WITTY, ballsy and a smart-ass ;). I love her.

Then there is Jake (sighs). A perfect rogue. He set his sights on Charley and doesn’t rest until he has her. The beauty is in watching the chase. Watching as they fall in love. One that comes so easy and naturally. The connection is instant and Samantha’s words speak volumes. I was literally right there in the moment with them, every step of the way. Damn, the tension and chemistry brewed and bubbled until erupting like a volcano and sweeping me off my feet. This is a classic case of, it does what it says on the tin, you will find yourself well and truly in the deep without a paddle and swimming for life. Praying for the happy –ending and not being able to utter a breath until you reach the pinnacle of the story.

"You probably deserve better than me, but I'm too selfish to let you.
I'm into you, and I want you to be so into me,
you don't even care that I'm not good enough for you"

I can’t sing the praises enough for this book. The only way to do it justice is for you to read it. If you don’t fall in love with it and the characters within, which I guarantee you will, I will print and eat my review.

Gripping, compelling, phenomenal and a tidal wave of emotions!

Ruin by Rachel Van Dyken ~ Review

Ruin
I'm not your typical girl. I've been running away from the memories that haunt me for so long that depression has become my only comfort. I was content in the darkness...until Wes Michals offered to be my light.

I didn't know that time wasn't my ally -- that every second that ticked past was one step closer to the end of something that was beginning to mean the end of myself. He tried to warn me. He promised me all he was able to offer--each moment as it came--but it would never be enough.

Sometimes when you think it's the end, it's only the beginning. Wes thought he could save me, but in giving me everything, he ruined me. Because after one kiss, one touch, I couldn't--I wouldn't ever be the same.

And from that moment on, his heartbeat became my own.

Ramblings...

“Maybe it's not in the perfection of life that things make sense, but in the chaos.”

This book is absolutely amazing...loved it from the moon and back! It's so meaningful, not just any ordinary love story...beyond that, so much more. Two people that unexpectedly cross path and help each other withdraw from their darkest places, bringing more colour and energy into life. Purchasing the book was already a start of a great cause because all sells within the first few weeks went to charity. I already felt..it must have a great story behind and of course i'm quite a fan of this author so that was a bonus.

The journey ruin took us upon was beautiful one, full of emotions with strong loveable characters. I just couldn't put the book down, I just had to follow every part of their journey and keep crossing my fingers for the ending. I love the characters, Wester the sexy quarterback and son of a millionaire, has it all the charms, the looks and popularity but a deep hidden secret that no-one knows. Trying to live each day as well as counting down the days, his world was cool and charming on the outside but sad and broken in the inside. On the journey of helping other, he comes across a freshman Kristen.

“For the first time in a year, I wanted to live -- because I wanted to spend every freaking day watching her open her eyes to the world. Hell, I wanted to be the first thing she saw. Sometimes, reality's a bitch.”

The chemistry between Wester and Kristen is so real and sweet, you just can feel what they feel for each other, how it develops as their journey for proceed. You can't just help slowing fall in love with them, just like they did without truly realising. From the very first meeting to the very ending, its full of laughter, tears, happiness and risk taking. The feeling of loving someone but don't know what the future hold and time was ticking away. Wes thought he was helping Kristen out of her shell but in fact they were helping each other live.

The story was so powerful, i can all the emotion running through me, laughed and cry with them. I meaning behind the story was no matter what life throws at you there is always something worth living and fighting for. Never be afraid of your fear, stand up and fight it. You are always strong than you believe, will power will become a miracle.

“Time was the most precious thing in the world to me, and I’d just given her all of it. Because I was falling for her. Because I cared for her. Because I wanted to give her something to remember me by, even if it would eventually fade like its namesake. Time… what an absolute horror-inducing word”

Timing is everything, can they beat time or will they have forever...

The Lady of the Manor ~ Ava Ward ~ SPOILER WARNING!!!

The Interior Designer that knocked the breath right out of The Lord of the Manor.

We are so lucky to have the (now) wife of Jesse Ward, the beautiful Ava Ward, with us at Booky Ramblings HQ!

Ava, what a doll. We are so happy to have you here with us!

Ava; Thank you, pleasure to be here. Did My Lord behave?

BR: Your Lord did very well. We need to rewind because we have to know, were you honestly not scared to have the crazy man that is Jesse Ward, trying to trample you?

Ava: Yes, I was terrified, but not of him. I knew what he was capable of very early on in our relationship. The only danger that man is to me, is to my heart.

BR: *Holds hand to heart* What made you stop running from him?

Ava: I was exhausted. He’s a persistent pain in the arse.

BR: *Laughs* Describe The Lord of the Manor in 3 words?

Ava: Cocky, irresistible, hard.

BR: Have you learned to like peanut butter yet?

Ava: We’ve improvised. I’ll say no more, although I’m sure he will.

BR: *Shuffles quickly to next question* What is the sweetest thing Jesse has done for you?

Ava: Bloody hell, I can’t nail it down to one! His mission objective, according to him, is to cripple me with passion and happiness, but he fails to realise that he also cripples me with frustration. He does say some lovely things, though.

BR: We have got to ask, what on earth was going through your mind when you decided to hand-cuff Jesse to the bed all day? (Brave move sister)

Ava: *laughs* I have no idea. I didn’t plan on leaving him there, but I also didn’t plan on him going so crazy. In fact, I didn’t plan it very well at all, did I? Holy shit, he went through the roof! But I did get his age out of him, the stubborn arse. He has a real hang-up about it. He trains and runs like Forrest Gump to keep in shape, but I don’t care because he can’t drag me around with him, now we have the twins.

BR: Perfect! We know, no-one could handle Jesse like you can. Do you think you have tamed him? Does he drive you crazy on a daily basis?

Ava: He drives me crazy on an hourly basis! Countdowns, Jesse-style fuckings, tramples, they’re all still a constant presence in our relationship. But I wouldn’t have it any other way. I let him have the power, most of the time.

BR: Of course. How is family life?

Ava: I’m  permanently on Central Jesse Cloud Nine.

BR: *Swoon* What 3 songs would you pick to describe the stages of your life with your Man?

Ava: I can’t pick just three. For most days of our relationship there’s a track, mainly because Jesse has zero phone manners and rigs my phone with his choice of song for that day.

BR: And, honestly, how good is rowing machine sex?

Ava: *Blushes* Depends who you’re rowing with, I suppose. My rowing partner is an expert.

BR: Which leads us to our next question, which kind of Jesse f*ck is the best?

Ava: Sleepy sex, without a doubt. I don’t want to state the obvious, but it really isn’t worth ‘bleeping’ where curses may be, not if you’ve interviewed my husband!

BR: How does it feel to be Mrs Ward?

Ava: Right.

BR: Indeed. Any secrets you want to share?

Ava: Lots, but I’m at risk of receiving a retribution fuck if I do and I want sleepy sex this evening. I’ve been defiant too much lately, hence plenty of retribution fucks. He antagonises me on purpose. I want gentle Jesse tonight.

Ava Ward, it’s been a rollercoaster! We have loved every second.

Ava: Thanks! It’s been great to curse without being shouted at!

*Laughs* Thank-you for popping in to Booky Ramblings
